As of this morning the final count is 13 confirmed dead and 3 buried and unrecoverable for a total of 16 dead Sherpa. Three more were seriously injured and 6 others were injured but were able to walk out. Almost all Sherpa in Base Camp have left to go home to family and attend funerals. Most are expected to return by the end of the day on Tuesday. We are waiting to see what happens and if enough Sherpa return to carry on operations. This has been a very emotional time for all of us and we will have to decide individually if the risks are worth it to continuing the climb.
